Our Focus

At NIYE Action for Development (NA4D), our work is rooted in the belief that lasting change begins within communities. We design and implement programmes that address poverty, inequality, and social challenges through locally led, sustainable, and inclusive approaches.

Our interventions respond to real community needs while strengthening local capacity to drive long-term development.


Our Key Programme Areas

🌱 Sustainable Livelihoods & Social Enterprise

We support households and community groups to build reliable sources of income that reduce poverty and strengthen self-reliance.

Our work includes:

  • Village savings and loan associations (VSLA)

  • Small business development and entrepreneurship support

  • Micro-agriculture and value-addition initiatives

  • Financial literacy and basic business skills training


👩🏽‍🤝‍👩🏾 Women, Youth & Child Empowerment

Women, youth, and children are central to sustainable community development.

We focus on:

  • Skills development and leadership training

  • Youth mentorship and life-skills education

  • Promotion of gender equality and inclusion

  • Addressing harmful practices such as early marriage, child labour, and gender-based violence


🎓 Community Capacity Building

Strong communities need strong local institutions.

We strengthen:

  • Community-based organisations and local groups

  • Project planning, implementation, and reporting skills

  • Monitoring and evaluation capacity

  • Leadership, governance, and accountability systems


🌍 Environmental Protection & Climate Resilience

Rural livelihoods are directly affected by environmental degradation and climate change.

  • Environmental conservation and awareness

  • Climate-smart agriculture practices

  • Community-led climate adaptation initiatives

🤍 Social & Spiritual Transformation

We believe that sustainable development requires positive values, mindset change, and social cohesion.

  • Address alcoholism, drug abuse, and domestic violence

  • Promote child protection and family well-being

  • Strengthen ethical leadership and community responsibility

  • Encourage dignity, faith, and moral values as foundations for development
