Who We Are

NIYE Action for Development (NA4D) is a community-based, community-driven organisation working to address poverty, inequality, and inadequate service delivery in Lamwo and Kitgum Districts of Northern Uganda, with reach to neighbouring communities.

The name “Niye”, meaning Faith in the Acholi language, reflects our belief that sustainable development begins with faith, dignity, and community ownership.

Our Mission

To empower and involve local communities to serve the most vulnerable members of society by addressing their physical, social, and spiritual development needs.

Our Vision

To promote active, inclusive communities that support holistic human development.

We believe in transforming the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Our programmes address root causes of poverty, vulnerability, and social injustice, while promoting dignity, positive values, and ethical leadership.

We embrace the principle of “Group Change for Lasting Change.” By working with local leaders, institutions, and social networks, and by engaging community-based staff and volunteers, we ensure ownership, continuity, and long-term impact.
